Feb. 3rd, 2018 04:41 pmI'm in love with Elements, just sayin'. The only place better just might be Hand and Stone )From all I've heard, I've not been any of their studios). Slightly nerve wracking because hands on. But they asked good questions and I aced the part where they asked about which muscle groups to target if a client came in with certain complaints. I think it went really well. :)
Thus far, they are the most thurrowgh place I have interviewed with, and the cleanest. I like that about them, even if it meant I was a bit nervous because also the first to do a hands-on portion.
Now to wait and see...

Date: 2018-02-21 02:05 pm (UTC)I'm not sure I'll get the one at Elements, it took me forever to find references because most of the ones I wanted have moved on from working at my previous place of employment, but we'll see how it goes.
I just apply for jobs, go to interviews...and hope. Nothings come out yet, and I'm hoping something does sooner or later.
I wouldn't be as worried, but I have none of my own equipment. :(

Date: 2018-02-21 03:25 pm (UTC)The concern I'd have with you starting your own practice is that the marketing is incredibly hard, and most of us therapists are not natural marketers! If you are, I admire you for it -- I'm certainly not, and I'm struggling through getting my new practice started up after we moved.
OTOH, I doubt the references thing will be much of a problem... I was rarely even asked for mine. If they let you get to the stage of doing a hands-on at all, they have already generally decided that everything besides the hands-on is okay, and they'll take you if you can back up your words with your work.
That doesn't mean it's always easy -- sometimes they have some pretty high standards for the hands-on, and sometimes you're competing with a few other therapists, so even if you're good, they only have one slot and somebody else is better. But it does mean that your references, if they aren't outright bad, shouldn't factor into it much.

Date: 2018-02-22 12:55 pm (UTC)It's why, if I do do things anywhere, I have to rent tables, and that gets expensive. I've only done that once, but woe. >.>
...
Thank you for that. :) Because I did do the hands on. I haven't heard back yet, so I still don't know. They're the only Elements in this city.
I can market if needs be, but I'd rather not have to.
It would be better if my association let us have intake clients. :/
(And if I had a way to start up a business with a loan because absolutely no work right now.
