Merry Christmas

Trying to stay positive with a houseguest who is missing her out of town family too much...mostly working.

It would've helped to have something to open this morning, but since we were moving and didn't put up a list...we don't really have anyone to blame for that except us.

Thank the gods we're going to Ohio soon and have gifts there.

Ham later, thank goodness, she's at least making that. :)

I hope everyone got everything they wanted this Christmas, and that ya'll enjoy the day. <3

In case I haven't mentioned this recently, your family sounds crummy and you need better people in your life.

What to get the person who is moving: gift cards to restaurants, superstores, and some place that sells housewares and furniture. Magazine or other subscriptions that can travel to the new address. A movie pass that can be used anywhere in the chain. Membership in a new-local facility they like, such as a gym or pool or museum.

My aunt Nancy is the only noncrummy member right now. She put a Walmart giftcard in my stocking along with a lot of practical stuff which I was grateful for...Including a bottle of a certain bathroom product everyone is raving (And rightly so) about.

And...I got a lot of early Christmas shit, too. The bio-mother bought us a set of luggage we spied on Groupon before it went away, and M got me one of the new dots as early Christmas.

The rest? Go die in a fire.

It doesn't help that my temp packing help was an idiot and put peels down the disposal last night (potato ones) and is still upset at the fact that I raised my voice at her, and used a few choice words )Which, OK maybe I was a bit harsh)...and even though I apologized (Twice) it's still awkward this morning. REspecially since I have a tenant coming on the 1st...and right now the thing is nonfunctional.

It's just a damn good thing C's husband is an HVAC/handyman typ person, otherwise I'd be looking at a $100 service charge with my new home warrantee already, and I can't really aford that, because I didn't make as much with the gofundme as I had thought I might.

My condo was built in 1981. I have no idea how nong the unit was here, but I do know it's at least six years old, because it was in here when I moved in back in 2012.

...

And mine wasn't the only one clogged up. M and I had to fish peels out of hers, too, a few years ago when we made the same mistake. It's one of the reasons I got, perhaps, a bit more pissy than I should have-I've had experience with having to dig them out with the hands. Let me tell you, it wasn't fun
